Let’s talk Disney merch: New and upcoming toy lines in the Parks
I am a huge Disney fan, as in the over-a-hundred-visits-per-year-to-Disneyland-annual-passholder kind, and as a toy collector, I am always eager to see what new items are available in the Parks. Recently, the Haunted Mansion has seen some love in the toy realm with plushes of the Hitchhiking Ghosts and the Ghost Bride (also called Constance Hatchaway) along with a diecast model of the hearse outside the ride and some glow-in-the-dark action figures of some of the Mansion’s residents. Now if they could just make a plush of the Gravekeeper’s dog, I can rest in peace. Seriously, Disney. Make it happen.
Oswald the Lucky Rabbit must truly be lucky because he now has a smaller, bean bag plush joining his larger, knit counterpart. Note that this bean bag plush is different than the one found at the Disney Store and is exclusive to the Parks.
Looking on into 2015, the new Disney Attractionistas doll line was announced last week on the Disney Park Blog. Think stylized dolls in the vein of Ever After High but themed to different Disney Parks attractions. The two girls shown in the concept art were inspired by the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party (AKA “The Tea Cups”) and The Haunted Mansion. I may not be the biggest doll person (plushes are definitely more my thing) but these have piqued my interest.
In the same post as the Attractionistas, a 7-inch plush of Walt Disney World’s Orange Bird is previewed. He is the little bird with a head made out of an orange that you can find at Sunshine Terrace in the Magic Kingdom.
2015 is looking to be a good year for Park-going toy-lovers. Now, if they could just bring back Duffy the Disney Bear…
